Event description

Description

To mark W.S. Graham's centenary, June's Easy Morning Poems reading group is dedicated to Graham. Somewhat overlooked in his lifetime, W.S. Graham has been championed by many writers since his death in 1986, not least of which was Harold Pinter (‘I found his language magical’). Graham has a special connection with the Scottish Poetry Library as we have possession of the desk he wrote at, the ‘Untidy Dreadful Table’ of his poem of that name.

Easy Morning Poems reading group sessions take one poet and a clutch of his or her poems. It's suitable for people who both know the poet under discussion well or known nothing about them. The sessions are relaxed, comfortable and an excellent way to start the weekend.

The SPL is fully accessible, with a ground-floor entrance and a lift that accesses all three floors. There is one adapted toilet on the basement floor. Guide and hearing dogs are welcome. A portable audio loop is available for single user; if you need a multi-user loops system, please let us know as far as possible in advance.
