About this event
Dan Lane has over 20 years of experience in the charity sector and is the Director of Make Good Happen (MGH), a charity consultancy working across the engagement side of organisations.
Dan will serve up a meal of thoughts to help us embrace the world of philanthropy. Dan helpfully points out an article written by James Misner that shows many fundraisers carry discomfort or sometimes resentment toward wealth, which undermines their ability to build authentic donor relationships. In contrast, he also highlights a view by Alex Evans that philanthropy itself is problematic, rooted in inequality and tax avoidance, and that charities should be more uncomfortable with wealth. This lively exchange sets the backdrop for our training.
This event is free, but tickets are limited and must be booked BEFORE Monday 17th November 2025. (Safeguarding guidelines mean that CIOF need attendee lists in advance.)
Zoom details for this online meeting can only be sent out to those who book by the date above.
