Eat + Wonder Adventure Film Supperclub: Himalayan Edition
Fri 7 April 2017, 19:00 – 22:00 BST
Eat + Wonder Supperclub is a fortnightly adventure oriented dinner & film night offering wild inspiration, fresh perspectives and delicious food in an informal and sociable setting.
Catering for just 8 diners per event, seated communally around our kitchen table; this is an innovative culinary & cultural project that serves up hearty home-cooked food, interspersed with a curated selection of short adventurous & thought-provoking films, to a different theme each month.
As winter comes to the end, and the weather outside is temperamental; take some time to join us for a warm evening of food and adventures crafted to capture the imagination. We hope you'll leave us well fed, fired up, and inspired to get out there and undertake new adventures of your own in the seasons ahead.
Theme + Menu
In April we invite you to spend a cosy night in around the fire, exploring the high altitudes of our Himalayan edition. Join us for nibbles, 3 courses, 4 short films and coffee with a Himalayan theme throughout... Think fluttering prayer flags, hardy yaks, mountain passes, diverse cultures & soaring skylines.
Inspired by our own travels and love of authentic flavours - expect warming, hearty, home-cooked tastes of India, Nepal, Tibet, and Pakistan. There's nothing like a plate of steaming hot Momo dumplings to warm you up after a day in the mountains, and the simple joy of Dal Bhat is hard to beat.... We'll be revealing the final menu on the night!
We're passionate about working with ethical, local and seasonal produce to create truly delicious meals; our special interest is in wild, foraged, fermented and preserved ingredients, so look forward to these elements appearing on the menu too.
As outdoor loving, travel-adventuring, fireside-feast making foodies - it's safe to say that you're in good hands, with mouth-watering, soul-warming flavours guaranteed.
You'll find us on Argyle Place in Marchmont, a stone's throw from the Meadows. The door number will be revealed when you book.
The Supperclub takes place at our home; an inviting, stylish and spacious tenement flat with high ceilings and original features. Dinner is served in our vibrant, creative and welcoming kitchen, around a large dining table. Films are screened by projector in the living room, with cosy sofas and an open fireplace.
Lothian bus #41 comes across town and stops right outside.
Allergies + Dietary requirements
Please contact us before booking if you have any restrictive allergies or dietary requirements. While we do our best to make our events accessible to all, it can sometimes be challenging when we're cooking to a themed menu. Best to get in touch and we can talk it through.
Due to the nature of the event, no changes to the menu will be possible on the night and we will not be able to refund the ticket if we were not made aware of any special requirements well in advance of the event.
This is a bring your own bottle event, of your alcoholic or none alcoholic drink of choice. There will be fridge space, and ice available for chilling.
To keep ticket prices low, and the atmosphere lively; it really is vital that all seats are filled at the table. So if you have bought a ticket but for whatever reason are no longer able to attend, please give as much notice as possible and we will first try to resell your ticket (or you could offer it to a friend!). However, if it's too close to the event and we are unable to fill your spot, you will unfortunately be charged.
