About this event

Step Back in Time at Sandiacre Lock Cottage!

Join us to celeb Heritage Open Days. Discover the charm and history of one of the last surviving lock cottages on the Erewash Canal! Our Historic Grade II Listed canal lock cottages and toll house, built in 1779, have been meticulously preserved to offer you an authentic glimpse into the past. Wander through the cottage and immerse yourself in the stories of a bustling waterway that once carried heavy goods between Langley Mill and Trent Lock. Marvel at the artifacts, pictures, and storyboards, all carefully curated by our dedicated volunteers.

Indulge in Our Homemade Treats

Whether you have a sweet tooth or prefer something savoy, our selection of treats is sure to satisfy every palate. Enjoy these delicious refreshments in our designated picnic areas, where you can relax and soak in the beautiful surroundings of the Erewash Canal
