Event Details

ECMWF Summer of Weather Code (ESoWC) is a collaborative programme where software developers, start-ups, weather professionals and scientists were invited to work with us to create new and innovative weather-related code.

The coding phase of ESoWC ended at the end of August. 5 teams teamed up with ECMWF experts and developed during the last four months.

We organise a Week of Webinars to showcase the outcomes for each project to a wider audience.
The week of webinars will take place 17-21 September. The will be one webinar each day at 4 pm BST for one hour. During one webinar, the outcomes of one project will be presented.

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) is an independent intergovernmental organisation supported by 34 member states.

At ECMWF, world-leading scientists in meteorology and climate as well as engineers, developers and data experts from all over Europe produce and disseminate numerical weather predictions to national meteorological services.

We further host the largest archive of meteorological data worldwide with more than 120 PB of data and are in charge of operating two Copernicus services on behalf of the European Union: the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) and the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S).

ECMWF is further involved in the Copernicus marine and emergency services, by hosting the information system platform of the European Flood Awareness System (EFAS).
