About this event

Riders on the Storm: Where now from COP26?

As the United Nations' conference on climate change draws to a close in November in Glasgow, how will we move forward to tackle climate change? How might we go beyond the technology, the economics and the conventional politics, by deepening our humanity? These are the questions that Alastair McIntosh tackles in his latest book, a book that summarises the science, looks at the psychology and even the spirituality of climate change, and which has been acclaimed by some of the world's leading climate change scientists.

Alastair is the author of books including Soil and Soul (Aurum 2001), Poacher’s Pilgrimage (Birlinn 2016) and now Riders on the Storm (Birlinn 2020). He is a regular presenter of Thought for the Day on BBC Radio Scotland and an honorary professor at the University of Glasgow.

This event/activity has been supported by the #COP26Conversations fund developed in partnership by Museums Galleries Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland and Scottish Libraries Information Council.

This event will also be live streamed on the Inverclyde Libraries Facebook page.

Please note: All adults are required to wear face coverings throughout the session.
