Event description
A celebration: Eco-Heroines of Yesterday & Today. An event for Women's History Month.

About this Event

Eco-Heroines of Yesterday & Today! Celebrating Women’s Day & Our Environment

What's being a woman got to do with the environment? And what can women do to help protect it? The answer is - a lot – and women have already been doing a lot!

Women play a huge role in protecting our environment and combating climate change. In this event you’ll have a chance to learn about our eco-heroines of yesterday and today – including local eco-heroines right here in East London as well as eco-heroines working on the national or global stage. You’ll also learn what you can do to help our environment and explore why its a gender issue, looking at the impact of environmental and climate change on women.

Join us to celebrate and discuss. Kate Metcalf, Co-Director of the Women's Environmental Network will be leading the conversation, hosted by local women’s voluntary organisation, Soroptimist East London.
