About this event

Workshop - Wildflower Tile Painting

Eco Skills Centre - Arborfield

Thursday 14th August - 1-4pm | Restricted to 8 people

We're delighted to be able to offer this fabulous activity which will bring together a group of you to create your very own wild flower tile paining.

Activity Details:

Paint wildflowers on a wooden tile to go on the Eco Centre shed

Your signed tile, 20-25 cm square, will be weatherproofed and used to decorate our shed but there may be time to do a mini version to take home.Group size: 8

This session is suitable for everyone- from complete beginners who are terrified of art - to those who already enjoy painting.Materials needed:

  • An old apron. Please wear clothes that don’t matter.
  • There’s no WiFi at the Eco Centre so it would be a good idea to screen shot your favourite designs and bring them along. If you have an iPad or similar to display these on that would be great. Otherwise you can use your phone or print them out.
  • All other materials will be provided. We will be using acrylic paints and painting in a loose, impressionistic style. Step by step instruction will be given and the brilliant thing about acrylics is that you can paint over any parts you’re not happy with!A suggested donation of £5 pp towards running costs and materials would be received with thanks.

About the Eco Skills Centre

Their ethos is to promote eco skills. Eco Skills was originally part of Spencers Wood Repair Cafe , both organisations teach people to reduce, reuse and recycle. They host sessions on how to build a range of animal habitats and how to best care for wildlife, whilst using donated wood scraps.

They teach creative minds how to make birdboxes, bug hotels and hedgehog houses. Each session lasts approximately 2 hours, in our birdbox classes each person leaves with their own birdbox.
