Event description
Hack the future of energy at Zeigo's renewable energy hackathon!

About this Event

Become an ECO-HACKER!

Sponsored by Scottish Power and DLA Piper, this hackathon will offer students, engineers, data scientists and coders the opportunity to come together to learn, create, test, prototype and present their ideas to tackle some of the big challenges we are facing in renewable energy. We're looking for smart people with a passion to learn and share their knowledge and skills.

Hack the Future of Energy

Smart platforms, virtual power-plants, the application of big data, AI machine learning are key technologies that will continue to support the energy systems of the future. Digital innovation will be a key driver for the successful transition to renewables.

What is the problem to solve?

Aggregating electricity demand from medium to large-sized enterprises enables each member to get their electricity directly from wind and solar farms – something they can’t do alone at the moment.

Why join?

This will be a fantastic networking opportunity to meet likeminded people who are interested in sustainability, technology and energy. There will be mentors and industry experts on site to help guide you to solve this challenge.

The winning team will have the opportunity to partner with Zeigo and showcase their project to the renewable energy industry in a webinar organized with RE100members. RE100 is a body of the world’s most influential leaders that have made a commitment to go '100% renewable'.

Who can join?

Anyone who feels they can bring creativity, innovation and energy to the table! We will create groups with the people who are attending, but if you would like to join with someone specific and be on the same group, just let us know and we will try to make it possible. Teams will be formed at the start of the hack on 9th October 2020.

Please note that this is an expression of interest and those who apply for tickets will be notified if their application has been successful.

In light of the recent government announcement, the Ecohack will be moving online and the hackathon will be conducted virtually.
