Event description

Description

Morning Session 09:30 - 12:00

The Economic Forum will cover a range of labour market analysis such as the extent of skills mis-match in the UK economy, and consideration of average growth in earnings for those employees who change jobs and those who stay in the same job for more than 12 months.

Lunch will be available 12:00 - 13:00

Afternoon Session 13:00 - 17:00

The afternoon session will be dedicated to earnings statistics. Speakers drawn from ONS, government departments, think tanks and academia will present analyses based on ONS’s main sources (Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings, Labour Force Survey) for these statistics, also with an eye on additional sources.

This will be a showcasing and idea-sharing session. Policy analysts have fed back that both published and non-published analyses are of interest to them, the latter being of benefit to gauge the types of new topics that are being looked into.

We hope you will be able to attend (registration is through the eventbrite page). In addition, if you might be interested in delivering a presentation in this session, please contact us at earnings@ons.gov.uk. We're interested in papers on any aspect of earnings, for example pay progression, pay gaps, distribution, impact of pay setting-mechanisms or something else.
