Economic Inactivity Trailblazer - Paid Placement Q&A
Overview
Economic Inactivity Trailblazer - Paid Placement Q&A
Join us for an online session to learn how your organisation can make a meaningful impact while benefiting from fully funded support.
SKylight, on behalf of Stockport Council, is offering fully funded, Real Living Wage paid placements for 6 months. Employers who take part will receive a grant to cover wages and employer National Insurance contributions, enabling you to provide high value, entry-level work experience without additional cost to your organisation.
This programme will support up to 30 employers to create new opportunities for Stockport residents. These roles must be structured work placements and should not replace existing recruitment or apprenticeship positions.
Participating offers a powerful way to diversify your workforce, support your community, and help local people develop valuable skills through meaningful, mentored experience. We’ll guide you through a simple onboarding process to help you get started.
The project runs from September 2025 to 31 March 2026.
We’re especially keen to support residents who are currently economically inactive, including:
- Care-experienced young people
- Residents with SEND
- Armed Forces veterans
- People with long-term health conditions
- Over-50s
Join this online presentation and Q&A to learn:
- How the scheme works and who’s eligible
- How to apply
- What participation involves for both employers and residents
We look forward to connecting with you soon!
