Ecstatic Awakening Dance is joyous, freeing movement - there's no right or wrong way to move because the movement isn't controled by the over-thinking dictatorship of your mind. It comes from breath, rhythm and the instintive expression of your body.

EAD is a method of movement without words, mainly done with the eyes gently closed as you are guided through its 5 phases and given space to explore and transform:

  1. Body Warm-up
  2. - The Shake -
  3. - Joyous Free Movement/ Ecstatioc Dance -
  4. Stillness
  5. - Grounding -

Our session also includes:

  • An Opening ceremony, to create a shared space and experience with each other
  • A Sharing circle with closing ceremony, to signify the end of the Ecstatic Awakening Dance experience
  • We can then share conversation, a warm drink, a cool "milk" and a variety of foods before going home.

Frequently asked questions

How To Prepare/ What To Bring

Ideally, eat your main meal 2hrs beforehand. A small snack 30min before starting should be okay. Remove heavy jewellery/earrings and watches [projectiles]. This session is for you to switch-off, help create this by SILENCING your Smart Devices. Bring a towel [sweat], a bottle of water, and blanket.

Is this like an aerobic exercise-type class?

No. There are 5 stages to the session, and at each stage I’ll give an introduction, and demo the basic technique used BUT there is no right or wrong way to move! It’s simply about allowing your own instinctive energy to move you in whatever way it feels and takes shape!
