Dance on 12th October is with DJ NavaSkye (Abi), founder of Ecstatic Dance Bath

DJ NavaSkye (Abi) discovered conscious dance back in 2001, when a friend first introduced her to 5 Rhythms in Tufnell Park. From there, her journey flowed through the 5 Rhythms community in Kew and into Biodanza in Richmond, before naturally evolving into the world of Ecstatic Dance.

Abi believes in dance as a form of movement medicine feeling the benefits herself she wants to be part of the movement to share her medicine with everyone. Abi trained with Dance the Medicine in both Ecstatic Dance facilitation and their DJ school, learning alongside teachers and dancers from all over the world. This has shaped her eclectic taste and unique style as a DJ. Within just 8 months of picking up the decks, she was invited to play at Boomtown Fair, and after a break, she’s now returning to the dancefloor with fresh energy and vision.

Coming from a deeply musical family, Abi’s creativity runs through many instruments, sax, guitar, piano, drumming, singing, and most recently the mandolin. With both brothers also DJs (one now in electric music production), music and rhythm have always been in her blood.

Through her sets as DJ NavaSkye, Abi invites dancers into expansive, heart-centered journeys, blending sounds from across the globe to create spaces of freedom, connection, and joy.
