As a new or recent entrant to primary teaching in Scotland, are you interested in developing your practice relating to the languages - both home and taught – represented in your classroom?
You won’t want to miss SCILT’s Signpost Sessions between February and May 2024!
Undergraduate and postgraduate primary education students and primary teachers 1 – 4 years post-qualification working in Scottish schools are all welcome along, especially if you are looking for:
- ideas and advice on how to support multilingual pupils and their families
- strategies for teaching additional languages
- the chance to network informally with others at a similar stage in their career from across the country
Each month has a different theme around languages in primary. We will point you in the right direction!

- 27 March - Pedagogies for multilingual classrooms.
- 24 April - Digital tools for primary languages.
- 29 May - Outdoor language learning.
Sign up for as many or as few sessions as you like via the 'Register' button above.
Registrations for each month close two days before, and the online link to join via MS Teams will be sent out one day in advance.
Make sure to sign up to the ECT Primary Get Together session on 31 January as a first informal opportunity to connect!
