Event description

Description

British-born and Berlin-based artist Ed Atkins will be at the shop to present his new publication A Primer for Cadavers, published by Fitzcarraldo Editions. A mixture of prose-poetry, theatrical script and sort-of-stories, Atkins’s Primer is an extraordinary exploration of corporeality, technology and the future of the human race by a man described by Joe Luna in his afterword as ‘an elegiac, erotic Frankenstein for the twenty-first century.’ The evening will commence with a screening of one of Ed’s video works, and get stranger from there on in. Atkins will be in conversation with Hans-Ulrich Obrist, co-director of London's Serpentine Gallery and author of Ways of Curating and Lives of the Artists, Lives of the Architects.
