Meet at Edale train station where we will head up to the Pennine Way, following it to Jacob's Ladder and onto the Kinder plateau. The walk then takes us over the South Head before descending into Chinley where we can catch the train back to Manchester.

If you are driving we recommend parking at Chinley train station and then getting the train to Edale to start the walk.

This route was designed as part of the Steel Cotton Rail Trail which is a series of walks following the Hope Valley train line between Manchester and Sheffield.

Lift shares can be organised in our Whatsapp community chat. Please drop us a message and we'll send the link to join. This car park is often very busy so please car share where possible to cars to a minimum.

Please make sure you sign up as spaces are limited. If you can no longer make the walk and have signed up please do cancel your spot so that somebody else can take it as we often have a waitlist.

We now have donation tickets available with all donations going directly to our Community Fund. You can read more about it here.

This is a social walk not guided so everyone is responsible for themselves, the route is on our Komoot profile so take time to familiarise yourself with it before we head out.

This walk is for women and NB folk who feel comfortable in a space that centres women.
