Will there be parking?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there will be plenty of parking available on site. Please follow the signs and directions of any stewards there on the day.

Question 2

If the weather is bad, is there an indoor option?

The house itself will not be open, but there are a few outdoor areas for shelter from the weather. Please do come prepared to be outdoors in whatever the weather is doing on the day.

Question 3

Is the site wheelchair accessible?

Accepted Answer

As with many houses of this age, the garden has many uneven surfaces. A large proportion of the site is accessible to wheelchair users, but some parts will not be. This is a private home, and there are no wheelchair accessible toilets on site.

Can I bring my dog?

We are sorry, but no dogs will be admitted onto the site.

Question 5

Will this be suitable for children?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We hope that children will enjoy learning something about the gardens, and the refreshments, but there will also be garden games for them (and adults!) to enjoy. Croquet, giant Jenga, etc.

Question 6

Will I need more money when I get there?

Accepted Answer

There will be no extra charges for any of the activities. There will be refreshments available at additional cost. There will also be a plant stall and the opportunity to buy local jams and marmalades. All proceeds are in aid of St Lawrence's Church, Hungerford.

Will I be able to pay for my refreshments by card?

Accepted Answer

We do have one card machine, but if you are able to pay with cash, it will help keep things moving along more quickly.

Will there be a guided tour of the garden?

Accepted Answer

Tours are self-guided, but site gardeners will be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions you may have - and they love opportunities to talking about their work!
