Description

GeoForum is a free all day event aimed at lecturers, researchers and support staff who promote and support the use of geospatial data and services at their institution. Throughout the day we there will be talks and demonstrations to showcase recent geospatial developments at EDINA and opportunity to offer your feedback on the services we provide and discuss geospatial issues with the EDINA team.

FAQs

Is this event suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students?

The GeoForum is primarily aimed at staff who teach and support the use of geospatial data and as such is not appropriate for students.


What are my transport options for getting to and from the event?

Lancaster House Conference centre is on the edge of the Lancaster University campus. Directions for finding Lancaster House by car can be found on their website here: https://englishlakes.co.uk/lancaster-house/how-to-find-us/ Some parking is available at the venue.

Lancaster is on the main west coast railway line with frequent services from London and Glasgow and beyond (and everywhere in between!).

Buses from Lancaster railway station are also frequent. Buses are operated by Stagecoach and timetables can be found on their website here: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/plan-a-journey Route 1 departs from Lancaster bus station to the University. Route 4 departs from Lancaster rail station to the University. The bus takes 20 - 30 minutes depending upon the route.

Can I cancel or transfer my ticket for the event?

If you find you are no longer able to attend the GeoForum you can either cancel your registration entirely or transfer it to a colleague who would like to attend in your place. Places are limited and demand is high so we would appreciate if it you could let us know at least 10 days in advance if you are unable to attend. You can contact us on edina@ed.ac.uk or 0131 650 3302 to provide details of a colleague who wishes to attend in your place.


Will lunch be provided?

Yes lunch will be provided. If you have any food allergies or intolerances, please contact us on edina@ed.ac.uk.
