Description

Edinburgh International Book Festival would like to invite all teachers, librarians and other Education Professionals to join us for the launch of our Baillie Gifford Schools Programme 2016.

This is a unique opportunity to get an insight into our schools events before tickets go on sale on Thursday 28 April.

By joining us for this event you can:

  • Arrive at 4.30pm to peruse our schools programme over a glass of wine before presentations start at 5pm.
  • Get an insight into our programme as Janet Smyth, our Children & Education Programme Director, highlights some of our fantastic events and strands.
  • Hear Dave Hook aka Solareye from Scottish hip hop band Stanley Odd talk about their event with us, combining thought-provoking lyrics and political commentary with hip hop beats.
  • Join in as bestselling author of the popular Tiara Club stories and the Tales of the Five Kingdoms series Vivian French and comics artist, writer and illustrator Adam Murphy, who created Lost Tales and CorpseTalk for the Phoenix Magazine, showcase their events with us through a game of comic consequences.
  • Discover our Learning Blog at https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/glowblogs/edinburghinternationalbookfestivallearning/ where you will find event recordings, activities and resources.

There will then be the opportunity to ask any questions about our programme or visiting the festival and to talk informally over a glass of wine and some nibbles.

Places are limited so please reserve your space, and feel free to pass on this invitation to colleagues.

Please note that although we welcome registration from arts organisations and other interested colleagues, we may need to limit attendance of these groups, depending on numbers of teachers interested.

If you have any questions please get in touch with Catherine Campbell, our Education Officer, on Catherine.Campbell@edbookfest.co.uk.
