Our session will provide a rare behind-the-scenes look at how one of the UK’s premier sporting venues manages complex safety challenges and large-scale events. Hosted by the Scottish Rugby operations team, the event will cover:
- An overview of Scottish Rugby’s safety, security and event operations at Murrayfield
- The annual event calendar – from Six Nations internationals and Edinburgh Rugby matches to major concerts and third-party events
- A look into the licensing and guidance frameworks, including how the stadium aligns with: SGSA Green Guide, The Purple Guide and The Safety Certificate process
- Crowd management planning and delivery, including: Stewarding operations, Ingress/egress strategies and Managing fan movement throughout the stadium.
Key challenges and opportunities facing the venue:
- Ageing infrastructure
- Resourcing for peak events
- Future stadium development plans
The event will conclude with a guided stadium tour, giving attendees insight into operational zones, safety systems and event-day logistics.
