The Edinburgh Open Research Initiative, Edinburgh ReproducbiliTea and the University of Edinburgh Library Research Support Team are collaborating to bring to you the first edition of the Edinburgh Open Research Conference on May 27 2022.

Open research (a.k.a. "open science" or "open scholarship") refers to a collection of practices and principles around transparency, accessibility and integrity in research. It can take many shapes or forms depending on your specific research area, but it is about adopting a certain mindset and work attitude that embraces being as open and honest as you can about your research, as well as working in a collaborative, constructive manner with others in your research community. The open research movement is gaining momentum and has the potential to have widescale impact on how we conduct our day-to-day research activities and the research culture/context in which we conduct those activities.

At this conference we would like to facilitate conversation and discussion about several aspects of open research, including:

- Education about open research

- Findable Accessible Interoperable Reusable data/practices

- Research integrity

- Citizen science

- Tools for open research

- Future of scholarly publishing

- Next generation research metrics
