Edinburgh PMDD Online support group
Overview
Are you living with PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) Diagnosed or Self Identify living with , and looking for support and connection?
The PMDD Power is a safe, peer led support group in Edinburgh, created for anyone living with PMDD.
This Online meet up has been created alongside our in person meet ups to ensure everyone can access the support no matter where you are.
This is a free event.
This group is facilitated by peers who are also living with PMDD and understand the challenges it brings. Whether you've just been diagnosed, are seeking community, or have been managing PMDD for years, you are welcome here. We are not medical professionals, however we can give you sign posting materials to local mental health services for additional support. For the safety and confidentialty of peers in the group it is asked that cameras remain on throughout the session. Unless an emergency or you need to nip to the loo.
Ideally we would like to see each other and use the space to connect with one another.
We also might some months have professionals come in the session and provide us with educational talks around wellness, hormonal health and mental health.
About PMDD:
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder is a severe negative reaction to the natural rise and fall of hormones during the menstrual cycle. It can impact mood, relationships, and daily life.

This is a chance to get cosy in your pjs and use the support from the comfort of your home. Or perhaps you are on holiday and just need this support. You are welcome to join whilst eating dinner or tucked up in bed all of you is welcome. We will start all sessions with a share (optional but encourages) around PMDD, how the month is going for you and a chance to ask questions to each other. Please have a bit paper or journal ready for each session as we always finish with a brain dump. A chance to silently write onto our paper any stresses and things we need to get off our chest. We then invite you to rip this up and bin it. This small activity has proven benefits to reduce stress and aid sleep.
