Edinburgh Street Pastors 2016 autumn training dates; Could you be one of the Street Pastors to help launch our next Saturday team, or perhaps joining one of our Friday patrols is what you would prefer? We are recruiting christians across all local churches who want to Help, Listen and Care on the streets of Scotland's capital, could you be one of them?
Why join Edinburgh Street Pastors (ESP)?
ESP are part of a voluntary network of over 1200 Street Pastors UK wide and even more globally. They are Currently supported by the Church of Scotland Go For It Fund for the next three years as well as the Council of Edinburgh's Partnership Development Fund. With over 54 currently training Street Pastors ESP are one of the largest Street Pastor groups in Scotland and growing fast. They have plans to start three new Saturday teams over the next three years as well as reaching new areas of the city!

Whats the training like?
The training starts in Thursday the 29th of September 7pm with an open night and continues every Thursday night until the 1st of December. There are also two Saturday training sessions; 8th of October and 12th of November 9.30am-4pm.
The Thursday night training is run locally by existing Edinburgh Street Pastors and professionals such as Police Scotland representatives, a counsellor, a Psychiatrist and many others. The two Saturday training events will be run by Ascension Trust Scotland, ESP's governing body.
The first Saturday in October is all about the Roles and Responsibilities of a Street Pastor and Simon Thomas who trains Street Pastor Initiatives all over the UK will be flying up in November to teach Good News the second Saturday which is all about the message we want to communicate to those on the streets.
