Event description
Free and vital online training for women and non-binary people on digital self care, safety and security in just one hour

About this Event

Who's this training workshop for?

Are you avoiding social media because you fear online abuse? Do you want to have a flourishing online presence but the level of toxicity is a turn off? Would you like the confidence and knowledge to use platforms to better serve you? Then this one hour free online workshop is for you!

About this training workshop

Sadly, evidence shows that women are 27 times more likely to be harassed online, and things are even worse for women of colour, disabled and LGBT+ women. The fear of online abuse is causing an exodus of women and non-binary people who are unable to take up their rightful space in online spaces. We campaign for both government and tech companies to implement systematic change, and raise awareness of online abuse so that we can make the online space safe for all. In the meantime, our workshops will equip participants to navigate the online landscape with confidence and knowledge. We want to enable you to have a happier, healthier relationship with the digital space.

In this one hour interactive session you will learn:

  • Types of online abuse and tactics to watch out for
  • Vital online safety techniques and strategies, including how to effectively document abuse
  • How to create your very own digital self care plan that enables you to have a flourishing online presence without compromising your wellbeing.

One hour can change a lot

In 2019, 100% of our workshop participants said they gained skills that made them safer and more resilient online. 93% left feeling safer expressing themselves online and 85% reported improved confidence levels using social media.

“The Glitch webinar was a really comprehensive introduction to online safety for marginalised voices with strong digital presence, delivered in under an hour”- Sabrina, 2019
