Actions and Detail Panel
Educating young people for a digital Europe
Fri 9 December 2016, 11:00 – 12:30 CET
Organised by the European Policy Centre
This Policy Dialogue will aim to debate and answer the following questions:
How can we ensure an education system across the EU which is in line with tomorrow’s skills and what is the role of the EU in this respect given its limited competencies in education?
To what extent are EU initiatives successful and being implemented at the national level? To what extent are the different Member States committed to the digital agenda and what do we know about best practices?
What is the role of the private sector in equipping young people with the right skills and how can education providers and companies work better together to co-design curricula?
How can we prevent an explosion of inequalities on the labour market that are partly due to the digital divide? How can we bridge the gap between digitally high-skilled vs digitally low-skilled workers and what is the role of VET programmes in achieving this objective?
