About this event

Business • Educators

Why should technical education matter to your business? Are you concerned about your talent pipeline? Do you have the skilled workforce you need for the future?

With changes in the Chamber’s policy team, a refreshed NECC policy strategy, and a shifting regional policy landscape, there are exciting opportunities for businesses and education to work together—but they will only deliver results if we actively seize them.

This mini-session, part of the wider Education & Skills Forum, and with the engagement of the North East Combined Authority, will explore these opportunities through themed projects and outcome-driven working groups. Kicking off on 6th October, the session will serve as a call to action, bringing together employers, providers, and the Chamber to tackle one of the region’s most pressing challenges: building a future-ready workforce. Crucially, there are opportunities to influence the direction of the regional skills agenda, and this session will highlight how attendees can play an active role in shaping future priorities.

Session Highlights:

  • A facilitated workshop outlining the regional context and key opportunities and challenges regarding technical education
  • Launch of the Chamber’s Inclusive Recruitment Toolkit, connecting technical education to employment opportunities
  • Networking and collaborative discussion to identify practical ways to leverage opportunities and influence outcomes

Why Attend:

  • Understand how technical education can benefit your organisation and the wider region, and discover the opportunities you have to shape and influence it
  • Explore practical steps to improve recruitment, workforce readiness, and innovation
  • Play an active part in shaping the Forum’s future focus and the North East’s skills priorities

Call to Action:Opportunities exist—but they need to be acted upon. Join this session to influence the regional skills agenda, collaborate with peers and providers, and turn potential into tangible outcomes.
