About this event

Do you enjoy solving problems and building creative solutions on a small scale? Could you inspire the next generation by sharing your skills with young people?

Find our about our Explorers Education Volunteering at our drop-in sessions on Tuesdays 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th August at the National Waterways Museum (10:00–14:00).

Have a go at our bridge building and crane construction activities, which are fun and easy to understand.

Then ask yourself… could you teach someone else how to do it?

If the answer is yes, with plenty of support and guidance from our team, you could become our next Explorer Education Volunteer!

We’re currently looking for new volunteers to help us run engaging and hands-on workshops for primary school children during term time, within school hours.

We're the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways, because we believe that life is better by water. Our canals play host to all sorts of events and activities, from bat walks, guided tours and festivals to boat trips, open days and floating markets. See what's happening near you.
