This workshop is for parent carers of school-aged children with additional needs or disabilities (with or without a diagnosis) in England.


It is very natural to be concerned about getting the right educational support for your child, particularly if they have additional needs.


This workshop will:

· help you to understand SEN support,

· legislation that impacts your child’s education, and

· the Education Health and Care plan (EHCP) process.

· We will discuss how to challenge decisions about your child’s educational needs and

· give you access to further support and information.


This online workshop will cover:

· What are Special Educational Needs

· The Children and Families Act 2014

· You know your child best and have the right to be heard

· The Equality Act 2010

· What is SEN Support and how needs are met in school without an EHCP

· The importance of schools working with you, the role of the Senco and specialist input
