Event description
Peter Tatchell discusses Edward Carpenter

About this event

Peter Tatchell is a human rights campaigner who has led the campaign for lgbt+ equality in the UK. Not confined to the UK he has stood up for causes across Europe, the Commonwealth and globally over the last 50 years. A shrewd observer of politics and current affairs, Peter’s understanding of past advocates means he has a insightful understanding of the work and life of Edward Carpenter (1844-1929) who lived in Chesterfield and Derbyshire. This talk will be original, personal and is a must-attend event for anyone who wants to see what is possible, and who want to understand the influence of free thinking and political and literary advocacy.

Derbyshire LGBT+ is excited and proud to host this zoom event - the 1st Edward Carpenter Memorial Lecture. This will take place on Monday 28th June - the date and anniversary of Edward’s death.
