EFFECT Disco Soup, with Feedback at Mercato Metropolitano
Date and time
Description
Join the Disco Soup revolution on 15th September at Mercato Metropolitano, 3-11pm as part of Urban Food Fortnight.
This global movement celebrates the delicious solutions to food waste; We’re cooking up a feast, led by top chef of The Brick Kitchen Sam Hodges, and we're inviting 1000 people to come and chop to the beat as we create a meal collectively, using surplus food that otherwise would have been wasted, all prepared while disco dancing to beats provided by Ministry of Sound DJs.
The event will be the biggest Disco Soup London has seen, with 1000 people coming together and taking part in pop-in cookery sessions using lovable leftovers, workshops, games for kids (and adults), and great music from Ministry of Sound in the evening – all for free! Join us to start the party to end food waste. Disco dancing and fancy dress will be encouraged. This event is being run as part of Urban Food Fortnight www.urbanfoodfortnight.org #UFF2017

EFFECT (Europe Fights Food waste through Effective Consumer Training) is a two-year European project, made possible through an Erasmus + grant awarded by the National Office in Poland. The aim of EFFECT has been to develop an innovative multifunctional platform, hosting informative and educational content to raise awareness of food waste and encourage citizens to actively reduce their food waste footprint. The event will launch a new food waste educational game developed by project partners, which is just one part of the online platform, which has quizzes, learning resources and video recipes.
