Effective and authentic communication in the world of legal AI
Overview
EFFECTIVE AND AUTHENTIC COMMUNICATION IN THE WORLD OF AI
– HOW MIGHT “REAL” LAWYERS NOT JUST SURVIVE BUT THRIVE?
A well-known AI tool defines a lawyer as “a professional who advises, represents and advocates for clients in legal matters, ensuring rights, compliance and justice.” Like so many AI answers, this is correct – but it also misses so much of what a lawyer should and could be. It’s trite to say that our value as lawyers lies in our skills – but what happens when so many of these skills can be replicated and even surpassed by our digital equivalents?
Qualifying for one hour of CPD, this seminar helps us find answers to some of these questions by considering what it is about our ability to communicate, connect and convince as humans that gives us the necessary edge over AI – all while recognising our need to understand and work alongside the tools it offers us and our clients.
The session is an opportunity for you to reflect on what your communication strengths are and how they are best valued by you and those you work with. You will have time to consider with others how we understand, nourish and utilise our very human contributions to the legal process and how that may evolve and develop alongside the growth and development of AI.
Hosted by Ishbel Smith a communications consultant with Heart In Mouth and a former commercial litigator herself, it promises to be a time of conversation, connection and communication to which everyone is warmly welcomed.
