Thu 20 April 2017, 09:00 – 15:00 BST
3 Day training course: Effective assessment for learning with Diagnostic Questions
Facilitator on the day: Craig Barton
All sessions will be practical, hands-on, and hopefully fun, using methods i have employed in my own classroom over the last 11 years. You will come away with tools and techniques you can use in your classroom tomorrow, ans practices that will last a lifetime.
2nd March - Using Diagnostic Questions in the classroom and on the website
This opening session will look at the pedagogy behind Diagnostic Questions and how it can be incredibly effective with no technology whatsoever, providing the teacher with more information about their class than ever before, together with opportunities for support and challenge. We will then delve into the workings of the website, looking at the depth of insights we can gain, as well as time saving reporting and feedback tools.
20th April - GCSE Revision
With the exams looming, this session will look at how we can use Diagnostic Questions to make the very most of these precious last few weeks before GCSEs. We will see how we can expose our students to the full range of questions, find key areas to focus on, and promote independent learning.
21st June - Preparing for September
The final session will look back and what we have learned since the workshops began, and take a look at some of the exciting new features coming for September, giving you an opportunity to everything set-up long before the summer.
