NITE's free professional development series offers short, impactful sessions led by experienced educators to support the professional growth of teachers and school leaders.

This practical session is designed to support primary teachers and school staff in developing confident, consistent approaches to managing classroom behaviour. It will explore proactive strategies for creating positive learning environments, maintaining high expectations, and responding to low-level disruption.

It is suitable for:

Trainee teachers - ECTs - recently qualified teachers - teachers with 1-3 years’ experience

Facilitator: Katie Jump

Katie is a module lead on the MA in Education for NITE. She currently teaches on the Expert Teaching pathway and supervises those completing action research projects for their MA. After a successful career in Primary Education, Katie moved into Higher Education and Initial Teacher Training in 2015. Since then, she has taught undergraduates and postgraduates across a range of courses including SCITT courses, PGCE with QTS qualifications and NITE’s Master’s degree in Education. Katie also writes articles on issues in Primary Education for the Chartered College of Teachers.
