Description

To enhance participants’ face-to-face and email communication skills in line with our aims and attributes.

At the end of this workshop participants will:

appreciate how written and verbal communication can be misinterpreted

know how to phrase written and verbal communication to minimize risk of misinterpretation

be familiar with the Emotional Piggy Bank model for communications and working relationships

be able to use the See-Hear-Speak model

have increased awareness of the impact their communication may have on colleagues

know simple techniques for checking how their message has been understood

understand the link between Communication Skills and the Abertay principles.

Participants will be invited to complete some reflection prior to the course, asking their manager and peers for feedback on their strengths and areas to develop in communication skills and doing self-assessment of their communication skills.
