Effective Communication for Women in Work
Mon 15 May 2017, 09:30 – 16:30 BST
Who doesn't want to communicate better at work? Who doesn't want to be seen as a highly credible, authoritative communicator who commands attention and get things done? Join other likeminded business women on this fun and interactive day. Explore a range of skills and techniques to help you get your ideas across, resolve long-standing conflicts, shine in meetings and persuade and influence others. Whatever environment you work in, whether it's male dominated, all female or mixed, we all work better and more effectively when we commnicate well.
Microsoft, Target Jobs, the BBC, Prospects, NACE and AGR and other organisations deem verbal communication to be one of the top skills required in business. Research by Kent University.
By the end of the day you can expect to:
- Use words, gestures, body language and speech patterns that can hinder or enhance your authority
- Explore communication techniques that promote positive responses
- Act confidently in difficult situations such as negotiation, conflicts and important meetings
- Sharpen your listening and observation skills to help you recognise what people are 'really' saying
You will get a chance to meet and chat to other likeminded women and discuss your issues and concerns in a safe place.
Lunch and refreshments are provided.
