Camille Renaudon, Head of Employment Law at Hibberts solcitors will share top tips for handling short and long-term absence and review recent case law and the implications for your business.
Camille became a Partner in 2015 having qualified as a solicitor in 2008. As an employment law specialist, Camille has significant experience advising both businesses and employees on all aspects of this ever changing area of law. Camille is regularly instructed to advise upon bringing and defending employment tribunal claims of all types, sickness absence, discrimination, disciplinary procedures and grievances, maternity & family friendly policies, drafting & reviewing contracts of employment and company policies, settlement agreements and a particular area of interest is the enforcement of post-termination restrictions. Camille also works closely with our company & commercial departments advising upon business sales & purchases and TUPE.
Occupation health - what, why and when?
Hobson Health's Dr Rachel Sharp MFOM will give an overview of how occupational health interventions can be key to effective absence management.
Rachel is Hobson Health's Chief Medical Officer. As an accredited specialist in occupational medicine and a Consultant Occupational Health Physician Rachel has wide ranging experience in providing occupational health services within the public and private sectors. As well as delivering absence management and ill health retirement referrals, Rachel is HSE appointed to deliver asbestos and ionizing radiation medicals as well as OGUK medicals for those working offshore and ORR rail medicals.
Dr Philip McIlroy Consultant Ocuupational Health Physician Hobson Health will share guidance to proactively help manage mental health in the workplace. Mental health problems cost employers in the UK £30 billion a year through lost production, recruitment and absence.
Philip worked as a GP before developing an interest in occupational medicine; working in the chemical industry, police force and following an industry training post at Rolls-Royce plc in Derby, Philip worked as a specialist in occupational, most recently for JCB in Staffordshire. He joined Hobson Health Ltd in October 2016 as a consultant occupational physician.
