Having recently moved into our new office space, we are absolutely delighted to host an evening of discussion circles and informal socialising, all powered by vegan waffles!

The themes for the evening are ‘Global Health and Development’ and ‘Animal Welfare’, but feel free to just come and meet new people.

Our goal is to help you connect with other effective altruists and animal activists. You can talk about your work, research and plans, and we’ll give you plenty of opportunities to discuss interesting topics and meet other like-minded and interesting people.

We’re excited to run the following discussion circles and talk about:

What it’s like being a charity founder and working in low- and middle-income countries: Discussion circle with Varsha (Co-founder of Suvita) and Haven (Co-founder of Fish Welfare Initiative)

What the next best asks for animal welfare are: Discussion circle with Vicky (Research and Operations Analyst at Charity Entrepreneurship), George (Co-founder of Animal Ask) and Thomas (Co-founder of Fish Welfare Initiative)

Working on policy changes: Discussion circle with Sam (CE Director of Research), and Lucia (Co-founder of Lead Exposure Elimination Project)

We plan on running 3 x 30-45 min discussion circles (and depending on the number of participants, we will run them either one by one or simultaneously).

Schedule:

6.00-7.00 PM: Doors open: grab some snacks and meet new people

7.00-9.00 PM: Discussion circles

9.00-10.00 PM: Wrapping up the discussions, social time.

Food:

We’ll be making vegan waffles, so feel free to bring your favourite plant-based toppings. We’ll have tea, coffee, and oat milk.
