About the Day
An informative and practical day for beginners, covering the basics of marketing in a museum setting.
We’ll look at case studies from the sector, and will discuss some marketing fundamentals – such as articulating your offer, understanding the key elements of branding and design, thinking about audiences and discussing some of the most popular engagement tools used by museum marketers.
Who should attend?
Museum staff and volunteers who have limited marketing experience, and who would like a session on the basics. This session is aimed at beginners, and we don’t expect this to be suitable for existing Marketing Officers or Marketing Managers.
What will you learn?
After the day’s session you should:
- Have a better understanding of how to match potential audiences to your museum
- Feel more confident discussing branding and design
- Feel inspired to approach marketing your museum and exhibitions in new, more structured ways
- Have heard relevant case studies from the sector
