About this event

With less than a year until the next Scottish Parliamentary election and amidst seismic political change globally, making your college’s and the sector’s voice heard by parliamentarians and other policy makers has never been more important, or more challenging. This timely session will help equip leaders with both theory and practical, real-world advice to improve the impact and effectiveness of your political and policy engagement.

CDN is offering two options for this masterclass:

Option 1 (this session): 90 Minutes online masterclass

Option 2 (view here): Half day face-to-face deeper dive masterclass and workshop, followed by networking lunch.

What to Expect

  • Theory and live examples of best practice in engaging, influencing, and negotiating with policymakers – focussing particularly on politicians and government officials from the devolved institutions
  • Using an insiders’ view to unpack the motivations and drivers of policymakers, and recommending effective engagement devices and hooks which talk directly to these
  • Considering other voices in the policy ecosystem which college leaders can harness and deploy to their benefit when influencing policymakers
