Description

About the course

This course focuses on how to make the best use of time during a science lesson, using teaching strategies which optimise the transmission of the teachers' knowledge to the working and long-term memories of their pupils.

We consider how recent developments in cognitive psychology are influencing school leaders' perceptions of what makes a purposeful lesson and how this sits within the science curriculum. Teachers will come away from this session with a clear understanding of the key features that should be regularly visible in every lesson.

Who should attend?

This course is for secondary classroom teachers and leaders of science who wish to make their lessons more powerful by applying an understanding of knowledge-rich curriculum and cognitive psychology to their lessons.
