Effective Volunteer Management - Working with Young Volunteers

Offering the right support and management for volunteers plays a key role in retention. Managing young volunteers, often new to the workplace, may present particular challenges. This course will show you how to get it right.
Who is it for:
The course is aimed at people who have a line-management responsibility for volunteers from small to medium BAME organisations (up to 25 paid staff) that currently use volunteers, aged 18-30, or are thinking of doing so.

By the end of the course participants will:
understand the benefits and challenges of involving young volunteers
understand volunteering motivations in young people, and barriers they may face
know about legal issues related to involving young volunteers, including: know how to target their recruitment activities to young volunteers; health & safety considerations; insurance; Child Protection
know which roles are suitable and unsuitable for young people
understand how to tailor their volunteer management to better suit young people
