Total Immersion Effortless Endurance Freestyle Workshop in Central London.

Learn to swim with natural balance in the water, more efficiently and with less effort than you thought possble.

This is a great opportunity to work with TI level 3.0 coaches Penny Wilkin (Workshop Director), James Ewart and Susan Cheshire. The swimmer to coach ratio will be 4 to 1 with maximum 12 swimmers in total ensuring you get the best individual attention.

This Total Immersion Effortless Endurance workshop can help make this a reality for you.

The workshop includes expert instruction, individualised feedback and detailed video analysis. It is recommended for people who can swim at least 50m or more of crawl stroke or who have studied TI skills previously with DVDs, books or lessons.

Who should take the Effortless Endurance workshop?

  • Long time swimmers who are stuck on a plateau or need motivation.

  • New swimmers who want to develop really good habits.

  • Self-coached swimmers who want expert assessment and advice.

  • Triathletes looking to improve their stroke, reduce their swim times and save energy.

  • Open Water swimmers looking to make their stroke more efficient.

The day comprises two 2 hour pool sessions and three hours in the classroom with video analysis. We will also send you links to full detailed video analysis with professional TV sports-style on screen graphic annotations and commentary.

What you will learn

When swimming the best way to increase your endurance or speed is to reduce energy waste.
During the workshop you'll develop the three foundation skills of effortless swimming:

  • Balance and Stability: Become weightless and relaxed in the water

  • Streamlining: Learn to push forwards through water by streamlining your body.

  • Whole Body Propulsion: Propel yourself forwards though the water using your core and channelling energy forwards using natural weight shifts.

The Coaches

Workshop Director Penny Wilkin is the only Total Immersion coach who is also a BTF (British Triathlon Federation) level 3 coach. Penny is also a BTF certified Open Water Coach, a level 2 ASA swim teacher, and a certified Ironman Coach. She has competed five Ironman events and is booked for a solo channel swim in 2020.

Workshop host TI level 3 coach James Ewart is a keen pool and open water swimmer with a competitive background as a junior and in masters swimming. He is also a video analysis specialist with an in-depth knowledge of video technology and software. He is passionate about technique and how small changes can make big differences in the water. In the summer months he enjoys wetsuit free swimming in open water events from 1.5k to 5k.

The Location

Orchard Lisle Swimming Pool is less than 5 minutes walk from London Bridge station. Video analysis sessions and lunch break are 5 minutes walk away in the Guys Hospital Social Club where we will do detailed video analysis on a 65 inch HD television.

Tea and coffee will be provided along with biscuits and cake, but please bring your own packed lunch.

The cost of putting on an event like this in Central London with exclusive use of a swimming pool are quite a lot higher than outside of London so we have had to charge a bit more than similar workshops outside the M25.
