Following the success of his previous presentations, Neil brings u3a members another fascinating glimpse into ancient Egyptian history.
The Gods & Goddesses of Ancient Egypt
There were hundreds of deities in Ancient Egypt. In this talk, we will look at Egyptian creation myths; the function and roles of some of the most important Gods and Goddesses.
This presentation is intended for any u3a member interested in Egyptology. No prior knowledge is required.
A little about Neil:
Neil first became interested in Ancient Egypt in 1986 during a business trip to Cairo. Since then he has made over 40 visits to Egypt, the most recent being in December 2019
He has successfully completed five continuing education courses at Liverpool University covering various aspects of Egyptology.
He is a member of The Egyptian Exploration Society, and a Friend of The Petrie Museum and was a founder member of Horus Egyptology Society in Wigan, one of the largest and most successful Ancient Egypt societies in the UK.
He leads and lectures at Upholland and District u3a Egyptology Group and has run residential courses in Egyptology for u3a members. He has also led four u3a study trips to Egypt.
