About this event

Join us for a walking tour which narrates the history of Toome and the Lower Bann in the 19th and 20th centuries. We will trace the construction of the canal and view the lock designed by engineer John McMahon in 1846 and the lockkeepers cottage constructed from Cookstown brick in 1867. The Canal walk is a level, accessible space but do bring outdoors footwear and clothing, particularly a coat if rain is forecast. Meeting point is the Toome Canal car park.
