Overview

Part two

èisd (aysht) is a project exploring the act of listening through and with Gaelic. Across two events bringing together artists and archives, èisd invites audiences to tune into the textures, rhythms, and histories of Gàidhlig as a living sound practice. Through discussions, performances, and collective listening, the project listens to language as a way of connecting to place, memory, and relation.

The second event is with Mahasin A, Simon Howard and Saoirse Amira Anis, who will present new sound performances inspired by recordings from the Digital Archive of Scotissh Gaelic (DASG).

Thank you to the DASG for allowing us access to the archives. We will be playing the original archives the artists have drawn inspiration from.

Thursday 20th November 6-9pm
Tea and vegan meal provided.

Thank you to Jude Ershead @judeesdesign for the beautiful poster design.

Listen Gallery is so honoured to work with these artists and give audiences the opportunity to learn more about indigenous Scottish Gaelic practices, experiences of language learning, song writing and translation as creative inspiration.

This project was kindly supported by Glasgow life.
