EV-Box launches smart charging in Ireland
International market leader in electric vehicle charging solutions is bringing its technology to Ireland.
EV-Box was founded in The Netherlands in 2010 when the market for electric vehicles was still in its infancy. Since then, EV-Box has supplied almost 50,000 charging points worldwide. The company has chargers for domestic, business and public use.
With sales of electric vehicles slow, but at an all-time high in Ireland, EV-Box has introduced their smart charging product range across the country. Ireland has ambitious targets for electric car use, by 2020 electric vehicles have to account for 20% of all new cars sold.
Unlike standard electric vehicle chargers, EV-Box offers a number of ‘smart’ features, many of them as standard. EV-Box chargers can be activated by a charge card or key fob, this also gives owners access to all EV-Box charge points worldwide. EV-Box charging solutions are universal and can be operated by any electric vehicle.
The most popular ‘smart’ feature of EV-Box chargers is the user friendly cloud based software. EV-Box hub chargers come pre-equipped with SIM cards, meters and GPS location trackers as standard. This allows owners to set up charging tariffs, control active times, meter the electricity used and automate billing of all charging sessions – all remotely.
