Degradation of dielectric materials can occur when they are subjected to multiple partial discharges. These may lead to a reduction in their electrical withstanding voltage and result in full dielectric breakdown at significantly lower voltages. NPL has developed capability to test multiple samples simultaneously at low pressure, where partial discharges and subsequent full breakdown can occur at lower voltages. This webinar will give details of the new system and show examples of coating tests, giving the outcomes of applying multiple partial discharges to PCB protective coatings.

For all NPL events we aim to accommodate specific needs and personal circumstances, but are reliant on individuals sharing this information with us. If you have any specific requirements or adjustments to support your attendance (whether in person or virtual), please do let us know by emailing events@npl.co.uk, so that we can discuss how we can best support you. Any information shared will be confidential and deleted after the event.
