This course is designed to provide all food handlers with knowledge and understanding of the current food safety practices and legislation. It is a nationally recognized qualification in all sectors of the food and hospitality industries and helps to ensure safe hygienic practices. Areas of study include:- bacteria, personal hygiene, food poisoning, food storage, cross contamination, legislation, HACCP, allergens, food pests, cleaning and disinfection. The course is intended for anyone involved in hospitality and catering, care sector, food retailing and food processing and anyone who is interested in food hygiene. A multiple choice examination of 30 questions is given at the end of the course whereby an REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate will be issued on successful completion of examination.
