[ELEVATE:EYE] Writing Dialogue That Feels Real
Overview
This workshop is part of the Elevate:Eye programme at the Bank Arts Centre in Eye this autumn. Anyone 14+ who is curious about making games can explore tools & tricks, build a network, and learn how to use games to express themselves over the course of 5 Saturdays – with the support of games industry experts.
During this session, you will learn from Samantha Webb, Senior Narrative Designer at Frontier Developments
Together, you will explore:
- What is dialogue?
 - What is dialogue in games?
 - What makes good dialogue or character interaction in games (with examples)
 - How to improve your own dialogue writing skills
 - Start Writing Your Own Dialogue (with practical exercises)

Sign up for this workshop as a standalone or for the whole Elevate:Eye programme.
Don't miss out on the AM Session with Melissa Phillips about "No Rage Quit: Feedback Done Right" as well! Free lunch will be served from 12-1 PM.
Attendance is free, but the tickets are limited. We will ask you to confirm your attendance ahead of the event, so we can move people up from the waitlist as necessary.
About Elevate:Eye
Elevate:Eye is five-day, fully-funded games development programme from Game Anglia, supported by the Progress Power Community Benefit Fund and Babergh and Mid Suffolk Council.
Open to anyone aged 14+ in Eye and nearby parishes (no upper age limit!), ELEVATE:Eye will help you learn how to tell your story by making a narrative interactive game – no coding experience needed! Participants will get hands-on with game engines, storytelling, design and more, plus the opportunity to work together in a final game jam in early December.
We’re proud to be bringing this opportunity to Eye in collaboration with The Bank Arts Centre, as part of our mission to make games education accessible and exciting for everyone.
