Elf and the Magic Hive wishing Tree - December 20th
Event Information
About this Event
We'd love for you to join us for an enchanting festive adventure in the Hive and make memories with your family to cherish.
Our cheeky little elf will be on hand to greet you before sending you off around the Hive for a magical adventure. You will follow our reindeer trail and learn all about Rudolph and the other very special reindeers that help pull Santa’s sleigh. Then you will enjoy making a magical jingle stick and with this in hand you’ll head off to find our magical wishing tree. Amongst the branches you will discover a ribbon with your very own personalised festive poem on it. Take your poem back to our elf and you will be rewarded with a lovely Christmas gift. Then they’ll be a warming cup of hot chocolate and a tasty gingerbread biscuit for your child before they leave.
OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION
Age suitability: The trail is recommended for children aged between 3-7 years old. This is just guidance and we welcome all families. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Tickets: Tickets are priced at £6.00 per child, this charge includes all materials needed to complete the trail and make the natural craft, an age appropriate wrapped gift, plus a standard hot chocolate and festive gingerbread biscuit. Adults do not require tickets. Children under the age of 18 months do not require tickets. Although this trail is self-led, we do ask that you book a slot. This is to ensure that those enjoying the trail in their household or bubble can do so safely, and while maintaining a safe distance from others.
Access: The trail is suitable for prams and wheelchairs.
Time: We estimate the activity will about take about 45 minutes to complete, however families can finish the self-led trail at their own pace so it could be more or less - it’s really up to you.
COVID SAFETY MEASURES
Getting out for fresh air and exercise is vital for our health and wellbeing. The latest government guidelines state that you may visit an outdoor space with your household or support bubble, or on your own with one other person from a different household.
However, we are operating in strange times and your safety and that of others is of course paramount, so in planning this event we have carefully adhered to the government guidelines and worked closely with our Safety, Health and Environment team to offer the best protection possible for visitors and staff. Below are some of the key measures we have put in place:
1. Customers are advised not come onsite if they or anyone in their households are displaying symptoms of coronavirus or are currently required to self-isolate.
2. Customers are asked only to attend in their household or bubble, with a maximum of 6 people per group in order to adhere to the current guidelines.
3. The trail is undertaken outdoors and in a self-led capacity.
4. There is no handling of shared resources.
5. The trail is limited to outdoor space only, and is designed to help you make the most of your time outdoors.
6. Numbers are restricted each day, and within each time slot.
7. Social distance of 2 metres can and should be maintained at all times due to the size of the site
8. Hand sanitisers and toilets will be available at our cafe
REFUND POLICY
Being an outdoor venue our events can be affected by the weather. Our advice is to come as prepared as possible: warm jumpers and raincoats, wellies, hats, gloves and umbrellas as we will always strive to continue our events – whatever-the-weather.
We have altered the way we do our self-lead activities to make sure that they fit within the strictest local and national restrictions, these were last reviewed on the 5/11/2020 when the most recent lockdown came into effect.
If you cannot attend one of our self-lead activities due to health concerns, you can transfer your ticket to any other activity of equal value free of charge, in the event that our future activities are not yet published you will be issued with a voucher that will be valid for 6 months to be redeemed against our future events.
If for any reason our activity has to be postponed due to factors outside of our control such as new government covid guidance or stormy weather/flooding meaning we close our nature reserve then your booking will be exchanged and you can use it to book onto another event of ours later in the year/early next year. In the event that our future activities are not yet published you will be issued with a voucher that will be valid for 6 months to be redeemed against our future events.
If the activity is postponed or exchanged to a later date and you cannot attend we will be able to refund your ticket minus the third-party online booking fee of £1.
